MLB > Dillon Gee Making An Impact For The Mets

~ Dillon Gee is making baseball fans aware that he plans on being in the majors for a long time to come. The 25 year old rookie has pitched lights out for the New York Mets this season. In a year that has had the Mets in the national headlines for all of the wrong reasons, Gee has been a bright spot for the team and it’s fan base.

Gee wasn’t even in the Mets starting rotation when the season started. He replaced Chris Young when he went down to a shoulder injury and hasn’t looked back since. He’s now 6-0 after his latest win against Atlanta. The Mets have not lost a game this season that Gee has started. (8 games)

Gee does not blow hitters away with overpowering stuff, he’s just putting quality innings together. It’s still early to crown him, however Gee is putting himself in the Rookie of The Year conversation. The Mets have managed to stay competitive despite the glaring holes in their lineup and the trade rumors surrounding Jose Reyes.

The team has money issues, they have attendance issues, the complaints are piling up about the lack of home runs being hit. The ownership situation was recently stabilized for now even though Fred Wilpon practically threw the team under the bus in a recent interview. The bottom line is the Mets are getting a shot in the arm from their youngsters. This is big for this teams future. Let’s keep an eye on Dillon Gee as the season continues
